(Cont.) Homeschooling...Providing a Christian Educaiton

Here is the last part of the article Our Society Today

Consider these statistics:
Every year in the U.S., 850,000 teen-girls younger than eighteen become parents; over three fourths of that count are unmarried; most, if not all these girls drop out of high school because they are pregnant. 80% of 375,000rely on welfare. Reports suggest that a lack of a good education and good role models demonstrating healthy lifestyles and work ethics are at fault for the number of unwed mother. This shows how important the home is in teaching directly and by examples the skills and values necessary to avoid society's problems.
Because they are single parents, and are under-educated and have few good employment opportunities, 40% of these teen-mothers are below the poverty line; the church and family have always been places where the mother an infant can get support; however, a new organization, "Second Chance Home(s)," was introduced by Clinton, who had twenty-five million dollars put to the homes' founding; New Mexico, where is Live, has nine such homes; although well intended, I am strongly against these homes. I believe they are treating the symptom, rather than correcting the problem at it source. Also, these Homes, by alleviating the consequences of poor choices, tend to encourage fornication and the conduct that led to unwed pregnancy in the first place. Moral responsibility for ones' choices (abstaining form sex till marriage) is of low priority because state welfare supplies food, housing, and health care to these young mothers. Therefore it is of little consequence to them to commit fornication and drop our of high school. It must be kept in mind, however, that a number of these girls are pregnant from family abuse and from neglect. We do not speak of these girls; they deserve our compassion and help because they are victims; but even here, we can see what happens when Christianity is taken out of the home--someone always suffers.
The parents of these teen-mothers clearly have poor reinforcement and care for their child--ad obviously for their financial security as well. It is plain, therefore, when we see the position of the parents of America, why there is such a crumbling generation of young people in poverty, fornication and welfare.
The marriage and divorce statistics in America also testify to the decline of the home: about 57% of married couples work (both spouses) and 50% to 65% of all marriages end in divorce. The children of these ruined homes account for 63% of youth suicides, 90% of runaway/homeless kids, 71% of high school dropout, 885% of youth in prison, and well over 50% of teen mothers. Reports have also proven that the children from divorce situations of badly in school. This leads into the same cycle of poor education, bad employment, and dependence on government organization and socialized medicine--all this due to the parent selfish choices in the average home.
Shockingly, the churches are doing nothing about this shameful situation we have in society today; in fact, our churches are quite ignorant of these problems, but frankly I doubt we would even care if it was known. Our members are emotionally based, and are insulted by the slightest bit of admonishment or a frontal of their, or even others homes.
Preachers and ministers seem to find it painful to speak about these appalling issues that are offensive to their congregation; therefore I find there is a tendency for our ministers to avoid the subject altogether, thus the message form the pulpit is "watered down;" but our member--they are the ones that are more at fault who are in resistance to instruction and correction. Christianity is about a sanctified like; a life whose choices and values reflect that we must all stand before our Maker and Judge and that our life here on the earth depends on that one moment.
Weak, nor supposed "Christian Parents of not, nor ever have taught in recorded history strong, Christian instruction--a nation's future is destined to destruction and decay without that order that God's Word gives to us. So, if our preachers wont' preach (or can't), and the parents won't teach the Bible either, what will be left of our United States in some years from now?
The weakness of Christianity in America today may be due to our nation's wealth. Wealth and prosperity tend to blunt our devotion to God; too often our focus to comfort and enjoyment rather than living with sacrifice so we can advance in the Kingdom. Children are keenly aware of what is, or isn't truly important to their parents; indulgence, pleasure, and self-gratification begin to lead their choices away form Biblical ethics and standards that take root. With out the Bible to form our values and worldview, we are left to make it up ourselves. The result is a nightmare--the schools, media, entertainment, government all begin to spiral downwards away from God.
There is scarcely any thing that can wound the pride, or degrade the character, of a people which we do not experience. Our country never ceases to ignorantly inflict upon itself shameful violation of rights and morals. The U.S. has poverty everywhere and homeless, abused children, it also has dead churches spotting its states with feeble ministers; our Nation also has fornication at a staggering rate and divorce flooding the home; and the citizens don't seem to care, at least in my view, because if we would be doing something about this despicable situation our nation has today of the cases I have mentioned.
If we would begin to save our culture and Nation, we must save ourselves. Each person must put Jesus first in his or her life, and just as importantly the Bible, learning and teaching it; if we would, our dishonorable and demeaning problems I have discussed in this small but heavy article would vanish. THAT would be a very blissful day!
God bless you and God save America!

This is a site where we all want to impart "grace unto the hearer"(Eph.4:29). Let us not attack each other but admonish with love, if we must rebuke a fellow believer. Also keep in mind I would appreciate no improper language or phrases.
Thank you for sharing your opinions with us.
God bless you,
